Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Mickleover striker Fin Barker – but face a major battle with Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to a report from Football Insider, who claim that there is now a real fight emerging for Barker’s signature.
It’s suggested that Barker has really caught the eye of scouts with Forest making ‘regular’ checks on the teenage forward.
Leicester and Tottenham both want Barker too though, and are prepared to make summer moves for the youngster.
Barker, 18, has allegedly scored 18 times this season, but that would seemingly be for Mickleover’s development sides rather than the first team.
Barker only made his first-team debut in October and hasn’t been featuring in the first team of late.
That form has still seemingly attracted interest, and Forest are looking towards the non-league talent as a potential signing.
Former non-league players like Stuart Pearce and Michail Antonio have become favourites at Forest in the past, and Barker could aim for the same.
Mickleover is just shy of 21 miles away from Nottingham, and that proximity may be somewhat appealing to Barker as he plots his next club.
Information on the striker is thin on the ground, but Mickleover’s official site notes that Barker could have been a goalkeeper rather than a striker without the intervention of a Derby County coach.
