Martin Keown raved about Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson live on air following yesterday’s stunning 4-1 win against Leicester City.
The 20-year-old scored Forest’s second goal during a comprehensive win against the holders of the competition.
Other goals came from Philip Zinckernagel, Joe Worrall and Djed Spence. Kelechi Iheanacho pulled a goal back for the Foxes.

Brendan Rodgers’ team were shellshocked by Forest. Once the scoring had been opened in the 23rd minute there really was only one team in the contest.
Johnson was a man in the thick of everything good about the Reds’ performance. The Leicester rearguard had little in the way of answers and he caused chaos.
Keown was impressed and made an honest admission about the Forest star.
He told BBC Sport: “Brennan Johnson has been outstanding. His involvement, pace and intelligence. He is ready-made for the Premier League. Obviously, Forest fans will be hoping he stays in Nottingham.”
Forest did well to keep hold of Johnson in January. The Reds rejected several bids from Brentford with the Bees desperate to land him.
Late interest also came from Newcastle, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Leeds all thought to be interested in the star man.
Destined: Forest star Johnson is a Premier League player in the making
Forest will be very lucky to see Johnson in the Garibaldi beyond the end of the current campaign. Really, the team will have to win promotion to stand any chance of keeping him around.

Clubs will come sniffing once again in the summer. With just one year remaining on his deal at that point, it really will be difficult for Forest to keep hold of him.
Keown was right to laud Johnson after yesterday’s game. Although it was a superb team performance, it was the academy graduate who once again caught the eye.
