Nottingham Forest thrashed Leicester City 4-1 yesterday and afterwards, Brennan Johnson earned praise from Aston Villa star Matty Cash.
The Reds sent the Foxes out of the competition, backing up their win over Arsenal with another Premier League scalp.
Forest ensured victory thanks to goals by Philip Zinckernagel, Johnson, Joe Worrall and Djed Spence. Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back for Leicester prior to half-time.

The Reds were brilliant during a first half that saw Steve Cooper’s team score three goals. Leicester had little answer to Forest’s brilliance and a new name will now be etched onto the FA Cup this year.
Johnson is proving a real match-winner for Forest. The Reds’ attacker was once again in standout form and capitalised on some horrible defending to put his team 2-0 up.
Cash was watching the game with Villa out of the competition. He was impressed with the academy graduate and praised the Reds performance.
The former right-back will have fond memories of the City Ground and clearly, he still follows the team’s fortunes closely.
Johnson is growing with each passing game. Based on yesterday’s performance it seems only a matter of time before he is playing Premier League football.
Cash lauds brilliant Forest star Johnson
The Poland international took to Twitter to heap praise on the 20-year-old following his utter brilliance against the Foxes.
Cash summed up his brilliance with two words after watching the academy graduate stick Leicester to the sword.
Forest now have a couple of big league games on the horizon this week. The Reds travel to Blackburn on Wednesday night before facing Stoke at the City Ground on Saturday.
With Johnson in the form he’s showcasing right now, few would back against Forest enjoying a strong week in the Championship.
