Blackburn Rovers v Nottingham Forest: What’s the story?

The Reds will need to come down from cloud nine this evening. Forest defeated Leicester City in the FA Cup on Sunday, with the holders exiting the competition after a 4-1 thrashing.

The league is Forest’s bread and butter though. The defeat to Cardiff last time out wasn’t good enough and Cooper will be hoping for an improvement in performance levels.

Forest are still on the cusp of a play-off place and they won’t want to lose any more ground on the top-six with defeat this evening.

The Reds looked impressive on Sunday. In one sense the pressure was off in that game though and tonight represents a different challenge.

Blackburn have won one of their last four games and will want three points to boost their automatic promotion chances.

Tony Mowbray has struggled with injuries to key members of his squad and he will hope to have some players back tonight.

Blackburn have won 10 of their 15 home games during 2021/22 and Forest will be wary of that impressive statistic.

The Reds have won six times on the road this season and tonight promises to be a cracker.

Broadcast details

Today’s game is live on Sky Sports Arena with the coverage starting at 7:40pm.

As always, the game will also be live on BBC Radio Nottingham with their coverage getting underway at 7pm on the usual frequencies.
