Keinan Davis was a man on a mission last night as Nottingham Forest defeated Blackburn Rovers 2-0 in the Championship. After the game, the powerful Reds talisman received praise from £100 million Manchester City star Jack Grealish on Twitter.
The 23-year-old has proved a revelation at Forest. Although he’s scored twice in a red shirt, it’s perhaps the work he does away from the penalty area that has caught the eye mostly.
Last night typified what Davis is all about. He received the ball in his own off and bulldozed his way through the Blackburn defence to set James Garner up for the opener.

Forest added the striker from Aston Villa in January. Many supporters turned their nose up at his arrival, given a less than impressive goalscoring ratio at Villa Park.
Judging him solely on those stats is somewhat unfair. The majority of Davis’ performances at Villa have come in the way of cameo outings from the bench when chasing a game.
He is showing at Forest that he’s more than capable of being a quality player. He works hard, shows immense strength and with a bit more composure, he should get goals.
What has Grealish said about Forest star Davis?
The City man is a quality player and will only continue to improve. During his time at Villa, Grealish played many games alongside the current Forest striker and clearly, the pair are pals.
Davis took to Twitter after the game and he received a star-studded response in the way of a message from former Villa star Grealish.
He issued a three-word appraisal of Davis and then issued a further six words with a message of motivation to the Forest striker.
Davis will get plenty of game time at Forest. Lewis Grabban is out with an ankle problem and the task of scoring goals now falls on the head of the Villa youngster.
