Nottingham Forest midfielder James Garner reminds former Premier League star Trevor Sinclair of Manchester United great, David Beckham.

The pundit told TalkSPORT about Garner’s brilliance in the aftermath of Forest defeating Leicester last weekend.

The 20-year-old arrived at Forest for a second stint on loan back in August. He has been a mainstay in the Reds side and has grown as a player under Steve Cooper.

Garner has scored twice for Forest during 2021/22 and he’s also claimed three assists too.

Clearly, the Manchester United youngster has some way to go in order to emulate Beckham but it’ll still be nice to hear the comparison.

In recent weeks his crossing has improved considerably, with his delivery from set-pieces helping Forest score plenty of goals.

Sinclair told TalkSPORT: “James Garner’s deliveries remind me of David Beckham’s.

“He’s got that dip and that whip and it causes so many problems. The pace on the ball, he’s putting it on a sixpence every time.

“It’s absolutely phenomenal.”

Forest are clearly lucky to have Garner. United could have loaned him out to a Premier League team in the summer but instead felt that Forest were ideal for his development.

Class: Garner is going all the way to the top after Forest loan

It seems highly unlikely that the Reds will be keeping Garner after this season.

United have a midfield shortage of their own and naturally, he could earn a chance in the Red Devils team.

Forest fans are witnessing first-hand just how good Garner is.

They will hope that the maestro can help the Reds continue climbing up the league table and hopefully confirm a play-off place.

The youngster is showing maturity well beyond his tender years and United look to have a real gem on their hands.
