Nottingham Forest striker Lyle Taylor has joined Birmingham City on loan and he’s taken to Instagram to speak of his delight at how it’s going.

The Reds talisman had found first-team football had to come by. Steve Cooper didn’t stand in his way and he linked back up with former Charlton boss, Lee Bowyer.

Taylor has hit the ground running. He has fired three goals and registered one assist from four games in the blue jersey.

It’s been a fruitful period since he checked in during January and the Birmingham fans have really taken to him.

My Europa League Predictions.

Taylor has never really settled at Forest. He’s found goals hard to come by and that hasn’t been helped by the fact that he’s largely played second fiddle to Lewis Grabban.

The 31-year-old scored three times for Forest during 2021/22. A lack of game time saw his confidence take a hit but now he’s back on the goal trail.

Taylor arguably played the best football of his career under Bowyer. He became a regular goalscorer at Championship level, scoring 11 goals during 2019/20.

His time at Forest hasn’t gone according to plan but he is a likeable character and a great player to have around the dressing room.

What has Forest striker Taylor said about his time at Birmingham so far?

It’s pretty clear that Taylor wanted one thing and one thing only from his loan spell at Birmingham. Scoring goals is clearly what he craves but ultimately he wants to be at a club where he feels wanted.

Taylor has taken to Instagram to suggest that he’s feeling loved in the second city. He’s playing well, scoring goals and playing for Bowyer seems to bring the best out of him.

The summer will likely see Taylor have a conversation with Forest boss Cooper about his future. As a result, he might have played his last game and a permanent move to Birmingham could suit all parties.
