Nottingham Forest travel to Preston North End tonight looking to continue their push for a place in the Championship play-offs.

It’s over a week since the Reds were last in action, with Friday’s game against Bournemouth postponed amid safety concerns.

That means that Forest might have some ring rust to shake off this evening as they head to Deepdale for an important contest.

Ahead of tonight’s match, we looked at how the Reds might line up against Preston.

The Forest rearguard

Brice Samba will finally begin his suspension and he will now miss tonight, Saturday’s game with Bristol City and the week after’s clash against Sheffield United. Ethan Horvath will start in goal.

The back three looks unlikely to change. Scott McKenna, Steve Cook and Joe Worrall are all performing well this season and are trusted lieutenants of Steve Cooper.

Ryan Yates and Jack Colback look like the two players set to start tonight.

Academy graduate Yates was dropped to the bench for the Stoke draw but he should return to the fray tonight.

Colback’s experience in the middle of the park could prove a useful decision by Cooper.

The wing-back spots really do pick themselves at the minute. Djed Spence and Max Lowe will both start against Preston.

Leading the Forest line

Keinan Davis has been a real powerhouse since he arrived at the club and he should get the nod over Sam Surridge.

Behind him, James Garner is likely to feature in a more advanced role once more. He did really well there against Blackburn and helped himself to a goal.

Brennan Johnson is arguably the first name on the team sheet and he will start once more.
