Leicester City are set to rival Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth to sign Blackpool winger Josh Bowler during the summer, according to TEAMtalk.
Bowler was the subject of several failed bids from Forest during last month and on deadline day the Reds thought they’d got their man.
Since the window closed, Bowler has been in great form. He’s found the net four times in six matches, scoring against QPR last night.
The youngster has a contract with Blackpool until the summer; although the Tangerines hold an option to extend it.
They seem almost certain to do that and that will at least help them retain their valuation of the player.
Bowler has really kicked on at Blackpool this season. He was plucked on a free transfer by Neil Critchley in the summer after being released by Everton.
Now, Leicester are keen on taking the player and other Premier League clubs seem certain to show their interest.
Forest were keen to bolster their ranks with the signing of the Blackpool man.
Several reports on deadline day led fans to believe that Forest had finally got their man only to be disappointed at the eleventh hour.
Forest must move quickly to sign Bowler in the summer
The Blackpool man fits the bill of a Forest signing under Dane Murphy and Steve Cooper down to the ground.
Bowler boasts an abundance of tricks and he’s now starting to weigh in with a few more goals too.
At 22, the Chertsey-born performer now has a long list of admirers and he clearly has a massive amount of potential.
Leicester have a decent history with producing younger players and in Brendan Rodgers, they have a coach willing to use youngsters in his first team.
As a result, Forest will need to move quickly. The Reds are also a club on the up under Cooper and they will also provide an attractive proposition for signings in the summer.
Forest must move quickly for Bowler.
