Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson posted a heartfelt message on an Instagram post by Matty Cash.
The Aston Villa star scored a scrumptious first goal during the 2-0 win over Brighton and sent a message via his shirt to international teammate Thomas Kedziora.
His Poland teammate plays for Dynamo Kiev and he’s currently stranded in Ukraine amid the ongoing assault by Russia.
Cash paid an emotional tribute to Kedziora by whipping his shirt off and showing a message of support telling him to keep strong.
The right-back was cautioned for his act, with referee John Brooks remaining a stickler for the laws of the game.
Whilst Villa were claiming a badly needed win, Forest also got themselves a 2-0 win over Bristol City.
The Reds were dominant all over the park and goals from Johnson and James Garner secured a big three points.
The 20-year-old took his goal tally to 11 for the campaign, with six assists also to his name for the 2021/22 campaign.
Johnson was the subject of four bids by Brentford in January and it seemed for all the world that he would leave Forest.
The club remained defiant though and he’s now very much considered as the match-winner in Steve Cooper’s team.
What did Forest star Johnson say to Cash after wins for both teams?
Johnson keeps it short and sweet with a three-word message to a player he’s played alongside in the past.
Cash’s strike was his second goal for Villa and he’s grown as a player since his £16 million move to Villa Park.
Johnson is likely to command a much higher transfer fee when he leaves.
Attackers are typically higher valued than defenders and the Forest star is destined for the Premier League.
Forest will hope that is to be with them and with Johnson bagging at a frequent rate, the Reds could enjoy a stunning end to their season.
