Nottingham Forest beat Bristol City 2-0 on Saturday to edge closer to the top-six. Brennan Johnson was in the goals once again as he took his tally to 11 for the campaign. After the latest win, Max Lowe and Morgan Rogers reacted to his Instagram post.

Johnson is growing into a stunning player at the City Ground. He’s now registered 17 goal contributions during his maiden campaign in the Championship, with Premier League clubs preparing to swoop in the summer.

Forest rejected four bids from Brentford for Johnson last month. The Reds stood firm and since the window slammed shut, the talented 20-year-old has really kicked on under Steve Cooper’s stewardship.

Johnson had made a handful of Forest appearances prior to this season. Sabri Lamouchi opted to loan him out ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, however, with Lincoln City winning the race for his signature.

During his only season in League One, he proved a real standout. Johnson helped himself to 13 goals and claimed 14 assists as the Imps were beaten by Blackpool in the Play-Off Final at Wembley.

Cooper has made Johnson integral in his team during 2021/22. He’s featured in every single game for the Reds this season and promotion will largely hinge on his form between now and May.

What have Lowe and Rogers said about Forest star Johnson?

After scoring on Saturday, Johnson unleashed a new celebration. He appeared to mock throwing darts and perhaps he’s been taking to the oche in his spare time.

Johnson shared three photos after the game. One showed him arriving at the ground, one showed him shaping up to fire past Daniel Bentley and the other was his new celebration.

Lowe was impressed with the celebration. On Instagram, he used two words and an emoji, to sum up, his thoughts on the moments after Johnson had fired Forest in front/

Rogers was more impressed with Johnson’s technique in firing him his 11th of the season. He was linked with Forest in the summer and played alongside the Reds forward at Lincoln.
