Nottingham Forest midfielder James Garner has been rewarded for his fine performances in the Garibaldi during the month of February.

The Reds star has started to showcase exactly why Manchester United value him so highly.

Garner put pen-to-paper on a new deal at Old Trafford before joining Forest for a second spell in August.

After scoring four times in 20 appearances during the second half of 2020/21, the Reds were keen to bring him back.

Chris Hughton got his man but not spending pre-season with Forest appeared to impact his form.

As a result, it took him some time to get up to scratch but in the last couple of months, he’s been nothing short of superb.

Today, he received recognition for his form after Who Scored named him in their Team of the Month for February.

They claim that Garner made nine key passes during last month and also netted two of the three goals he’s scored for Forest this season.

The 20-year-old is really proving his worth right now and he’s an undroppable member of Steve Cooper’s team.

Garner is another player that Forest must enjoy whilst they can, with it looking increasingly likely he will get a United chance next season.

The talented England under-21 international has been a standout player in recent months.

Since December he’s really kicked on and has started to show exactly why he’s valued so highly at Old Trafford.

Cooper has a proven track record of getting the best out of youngsters and Garner is proving another example.

The Reds midfielder has a pin-point passing radar and this season he’s showcasing he’s not afraid to stick a challenge in.

Forest are firmly in the mix for a play-off place and United youngster Garner might just lead them there.
