Nottingham Forest opted to let goalkeeper Jordan Wright join Lincoln on a permanent deal during the January transfer window.

Yesterday, the goalkeeper made his debut for the Imps after goalkeeper Josh Griffiths picked up an injury in the closing stages.

He had to be helped off the pitch with Wright coming on for the final stages of a 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Wright did make the Forest bench on a few occasions but never actually made an appearance for the first team.

As a result, the club decided that the best thing for his development would be to let him head to the League One club permanently.

Wright didn’t have too much to do. He will now be hoping to keep his place in the team in the absence of Griffiths.

After the game, Wright took to Instagram to speak of his pride in making his debut for Lincoln.

Following his post, he received a message of congratulations from Brice Samba who spent a couple of years training alongside Wright each day.

The Congolese stopper has sat out the last three Forest games and he will hope to return for tomorrow’s FA Cup game against Huddersfield.

What did Samba say to former Forest man Wright?

It was short and sweet from one goalkeeper to another.

Samba used two words and a couple of emojis to congratulate the 20-year-old on his maiden outing for Lincoln.

Wright will have learnt a lot from his time training with Samba and there are certainly worse he could pick up some tips from.

The challenge for the youngster now is to stay in the Lincoln team and continue honing his skills in the EFL.

For Samba, he will hope to regain his place in the Forest team quickly following his suspension.
