Keinan Davis was handed a rest last night as Nottingham Forest defeated Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup. He was introduced with 23 minutes remaining and helped the Reds progress in the competition. After the game, he took to Instagram to send a message to the Forest fan base.

Davis signed for the Reds almost as soon as the January transfer window opened. His arrival was met with some angst; with plenty of fans feeling his goalscoring record at Aston Villa didn’t warrant interest from Forest.

The 23-year-old has made just 12 appearances for the Reds and already it’s evident what his game is about. He is powerful, skilful, yet holds the ball up tremendously well in the final third.

Davis has scored two goals and claimed two assists. It’s fair to say, however, it’s the work he does for his teammates that has caught the eye the most. If he could add more goals to his game, he’d be worth an absolute fortune.

My Europa League Predictions.

Steven Gerrard spoke fondly of Davis being one for the future at Villa prior to him joining Forest. It does seem reasonable to suggest, however, that he won’t really continue progressing without playing regular football.

With Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins at the club, his chances right now look slim. Villa will also likely make a signing or two in the summer and that could further hamper Davis and his progress as a player.

What has Davis said about Forest?

The youngster has been tremendous and the support he’s received from the fans hasn’t gone unnoticed. He took to Instagram after last night’s game to post a four-word response about his time at the club so far.

Davis has clearly been thankful for the support which he’s received from the fan base. He has indicated that he’s really enjoying his time with Forest since checking in on loan.

Surely the Reds would be willing to try and sign him on a permanent basis. He could find himself out of the reckoning at Villa and he will be keen to continue playing football next season.

Davis could prove a really shrewd signing in years to come. If Forest can get something sorted in the summer, it would represent a great start to the club’s transfer window.
