Aston Villa are keen to sell Keinan Davis during the summer and Birmingham Live has suggested that Nottingham Forest could be in pole position.
The Reds have been delighted with Davis since he checked in during January. His physical presence since arriving has been a joy to behold and now, a permanent deal could be in the offing.
Forest added Davis in early January. His debut came in the 1-0 win over Arsenal in the FA Cup and he’s made 11 further appearances for the Reds.
The 23-year-old has two goals and two assists to his name in the Garibaldi; finding the net in games against Barnsley and Cardiff.
Now, it seems that Villa are keen to sell him. The report suggests that if all parties agree, Steven Gerrard would be keen to do a deal with Forest in the summer.
Davis is down the pecking order at Villa Park. Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings are at the club and they may seek another striker during the summer transfer window.
That could leave the powerful striker surplus to requirements; allowing Forest to pounce on their loan star.
After Forest defeated Leicester in the FA Cup, the player earned praise from pundit Danny Murphy. He called him ‘outstanding’ for his efforts.
Forest must move heaven and earth to sign Davis
What a signing the uncompromising striker has been. His arrival was met with some negativity but his critics have soon been silenced.
Ultimately, you have to appreciate what Davis brings to the team. Right now, he’s not a 20-goal a season striker but he brings raw power and an ability to hold up the play.
Forest could lose Lewis Grabban in the summer and if they do they may find themselves needing a striker.
Davis leaving would, therefore, leave the Reds in all sorts of bother and landing the Aston Villa star is a complete no-brainer.
