Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates has received some praise from Gary Brazil for his performance in Monday’s 2-1 win over Huddersfield.

The 24-year-old scored the winner as Forest set up a quarter-final date with Liverpool at the City Ground later this month.

Yates now has six goals for the campaign and he’s scored in the last two matches; both with his head!

It’s been an ongoing bugbear among some supporters that he gets into great positions but then struggles to stick chances away.

My Europa League Predictions.

There has been no such problem in the last few days, with Yates seemingly on the way towards double figures.

Brazil is a man who knows all about Yates. The youngster rose through the academy and after a couple of loan spells, began making an impact on Trentside.

Yates has made 117 appearances for Forest. In the last few months under Steve Cooper, he’s really kicked on and is starting to showcase his potential.

The likeable player has always given his all for Forest. Now, he’s showing some real ability when it comes to being a box-to-box midfielder too.

Forest are fortunate to have Yates and they’ll hope his purple patch continues.

What has Brazil said about Forest star Yates?

The Director of Professional Development has seen Yates grow as a player and he will be like a proud dad these days.

On Monday, Yates stole the show. He roared into tackles, his passing was on point and he worked tirelessly hard for the team once more.

Brazil will have seen this all before. Nobody trusts the club’s young, emerging talent more than the key figure and he took to Twitter to laud Yates.

The youngster’s work ethic has never been in question. Now, the challenge for Yates is to bottle his performance against Huddersfield and unleash it consistently.
