Nottingham Forest gem Dale Taylor scored an absolutely worldie as the Reds secured a 4-4 draw against Leeds on their travels yesterday.

The Northern Ireland talisman is working his way back to full fitness and he showed no signs of ill effects yesterday.

Forest were pretty good throughout the game at Leeds’ Thorp Arch training facility. Josh Powell scored twice with Detlef Esapa Osong adding to Taylor’s goal.

The youngster’s long-range strike was the one that caught the eye though. His rasping effort fizzed into the top corner at some speed to stun Leeds.

Taylor has been somewhat off the boil this season but that has largely been down to his fitness struggles.

It’s safe to say that the 18-year-old is keen to make up for lost time though and his goal yesterday was truly amazing.

Taylor checked in at the City Ground from Linfield where he earned rave reviews from boss David Healy.

He caught the eye in his homeland by scoring for Linfield’s first team at the age of just 15 and essentially, that earned him a move to the City Ground.

Taylor has earned rave reviews during his time at Forest. Earlier this season he made his debut for the Northern Ireland senior team.

Future is bright for Taylor at Forest

This goal scored on Saturday typifies exactly what the youngster is all about.

With no options, Taylor took aim from all of 30 yards, lashing an unstoppable effort into the top corner.

It doesn’t look as though it will be too long before the talented teenager is making an impact on the Forest senior ranks.

Steve Cooper is a manager who loves to use younger players in his teams and there could be a space or two for a striker next season.

That place could go to Taylor, especially if he keeps scoring goals akin to the one he notched against Leeds.
