Nottingham Forest youngster Ateef Konate helped the under-23s to a 3-0 win over Sunderland on Monday. After the game, Djed Spence compared him to Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.

The talented winger is emerging through the ranks at rapid speed. He stepped off the bench against Barnsley earlier this season and looks set for a bright future.

Konate also played in both Carabao Cup games during 2021/22. He looks like a decent winger with an abundance of pace and flair to bring to the table.

Forest landed the youngster from Le Havre. The French outfit have a proud history of producing top players and the Reds did well to land the talented forward.

The Best XI Already NOT Going To The 2022 World Cup

The 20-year-old is a real talent and he’s been a mainstay in Andy Reid’s team this year. A real challenge for Konate now is to prove himself as a first-team possibility.

The 20-year-old will be out of contract in the summer. With that in mind, the club has a decision to make and it will be interesting to see whether Konate is kept on.

Forest would perhaps be wise to offer him a deal. He did well during a brief cameo in the Championship and there is more to come.

What has Spence said about Forest gem Konate?

The Forest right-sided performer has compared the starlet to a Real Madrid star! Of course, it’s likely to be tongue in cheeks but it’s amusing nonetheless.

Konate naturally has some way to go to emulate the Brazilian. He’s scored 17 goals and claimed 14 assists for Los Blancos during 2021/22.

Spence will hope to fire Forest to three points against QPR tonight. For Konate, he will hope to keep playing well for the under-23s and earn himself a new deal before the season ends.
