Queens Park Rangers will be missing two influential players when they arrive at Nottingham Forest tonight. The two sides will clash with lots at stake in the quest to reach the Championship’s top-six.

Both Lyndon Dykes and Seny Dieng will be missing from Mark Warburton’s team. Goalkeeper Dieng has a muscle complaint, whilst Dykes is struggling with a niggle.

The missing duo will give Warburton some cause for concern. He will want his team to pick up momentum after a comeback win over Luton at the weekend.

Forest will be buoyed to see the pair of star men missing. Dykes caused the Forest defence havoc earlier in the season; opening the scoring during a 1-1 draw at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Dieng has also been in good form for the West Londoners this season. He has made 29 appearances and kept nine clean sheets in all competitions.

David Marshall is likely to deputise tonight and he can expect a hostile reception from the Forest fan base, given that he’s a former Derby County player.

QPR do have a decent squad. Given that Warburton’s men are doing well, they will have several players hoping to grasp their chance with open arms.

Forest must target Marshall against QPR

The last time Forest came up against Marshall he dropped a real clanger. During the 2020/21 campaign, he let James Garner’s weak effort squirm over him to give Forest the lead at Pride Park.

As a result, he will represent a clear weakness in the QPR ranks. Marshall has enjoyed a pretty good career but over the last couple of years, errors have crept into his game.

Taking that into consideration, Forest have to target the goalkeeper this evening. He will be undoubtedly up for the game but the Reds have to make life difficult for him.

If Forest can pepper Marshall they should be able to breach him at least once during the 90 minutes and Steve Cooper will hope three points can be claimed.
