Ateef Konate is a man on a mission at Nottingham Forest and he’s been speaking to Foot Mercato about two players who have helped him settle.
The Reds youngster has been in fine form during 2021/22. He’s become a regular in Andy Reid’s under-23 outfit and has made three first-team appearances.
Konate has scored four goals and claimed six assists for the young guns this season. As a result, he will hope to earn a contract beyond the summer when his current deal expires.

At 20 the future looks bright for Konate. The left-winger checked in from Le Havre where they have a proud history of nurturing talented young footballers.
Following his arrival on Trentside, the trickster has claimed that two players, in particular, helped him to settle.
He’s told Foot Mercato: “The presence of the French club helped me a lot, Brice Samba had already been there a while, he welcomed me very well, he knew the place and since then, he’s given me lots of advice.
“Loic (Mbe Soh) is a friend, we are often together. It helps me a lot so yes these are important factors that allow me to feel good in Nottingham.”
Konate capable of making Forest step up
For a young lad, Konate has a mature head on his shoulders and he plays with freedom and showcases plenty of guile.
The talented individual must continue his strong work with the under-23s and eventually, he will earn more chances.

Konate deserves a new contract and he’s not looked overawed when he’s been called upon.
Forest have a proud history of nurturing young players and Konate will hope to be the next cab off the ranks from the academy.
