Nottingham Forest star Djed Spence will be absolutely desperate to perform well against Liverpool today. Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a move for the Middlesbrough defender and today could act as an audition.

The Reds face one of the world’s best teams today in the quarter-final of the FA Cup. Forest have already defeated Arsenal and Leicester to get to this point of the competition.

Today another Premier League scalp is in their sights. With Spence pulling the strings down the right-hand side, Forest will hope to cause another shock of epic proportions.

Spence has been a fine performer for Forest this season. He’s scored three goals and claimed five assists for the Reds and is now attracting interest from some massive clubs.

The Best XI Already NOT Going To The 2022 World Cup

The 21-year-old was called into the England under-21 squad this week. It caps a remarkable season off and there could still be more joy for the youngster.

Forest play in the last eight of the FA Cup this evening for the first time since 1996. The Reds also have their sights on promotion glory and Spence will be integral.

A move to Liverpool would be a big one for Spence. Having him and Trent Alexander-Arnold competing for a place would be a seriously big deal and he’d become an asset to the Liverpool squad.

After Forest knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup, he earned praise from Ian Wright. He called him ‘unbelievable’ during the live television coverage.

Focus: Spence needs to play his normal Forest game to impress Liverpool

Forest could switch to a back four against Liverpool today. For Spence, however, he’s likely to be given the license to maraude forward by boss Steve Cooper.

The youngster has been a breath of fresh air this season. He has warmed himself to the fan base with his all-action style and ability to leave defenders for dead.

Spence won’t be focused on anything other than Forest. He will know that other clubs are watching him though and a strong performance today could tempt Klopp into a summer purchase.
