Tony Cascarino has backed Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper to one day manage in the Premier League. He also thinks the Reds will win promotion to the top-flight if they can make the play-offs this season.
Cascarino has made the claim on The Times’ The Game podcast after the Reds were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Forest were cruelly denied the chance to win the game. Diogo Jota scored 13 minutes from time; although the Reds were the better team for large parts, particularly the second 45 minutes.

Cascarino doesn’t believe that all is lost for Forest though. He thinks that Cooper and his team have a really strong chance of finishing the season with a flourish.
He told The Times’ The Game podcast: “He (Cooper) has a great chance of getting Forest up. They can get through the play-offs.
“I think they’ll make the play-offs and they’d be my favourites to go through if they get there.
“He (Cooper) comes over so well and his teams are really well set up. He’s got a great chance of being a Premier League manager.”
Forest are in safe hands under Cooper
Even if this season doesn’t end in promotion, there is reason to suggest that the future is bright for Forest.
Cooper has put smiles back on faces, people back in the stands and he’s brought Nottingham as a city back together.

The football team is no longer a laughing stock and Cooper ensures his team have a go at trying to win every single game.
It makes a refreshing change and supporters will be hoping that it can continue into the closing stages of the season.
Forest certainly have a chance this season and it’ll be interesting to see what transpires between now and May.
