Nottingham Forest Under-18s produced another stunning performance yesterday as they beat Middlesbrough 3-0 and Detlef Esapa Osong was outstanding.
Warren Joyce has now overseen five unbeaten games. It’s taken the team some time to get going this season but the future now looks extremely bright.
Forest were on top throughout the contest yesterday. Boro were simply blown away by a man in devastating form in front of goal.
Osong is a man on a mission. He looks on course to rise through the ranks and he could be a big player in the future for Forest.
The 17-year-old talisman opened the scoring after just six minutes at the Nigel Doughty Academy.
Forest doubled their lead just prior to the break. Jack Perkins finished off from close range after some good work by talented midfielder Josh Powell.
Lee Cattermole is in charge of the Boro under-18s and his team did show some of the former midfielder’s fighting spirit.
The game was over as a contest 10 minutes after the restart. Osong was fouled in the box and he dusted himself down to slot cooly past the Boro custodian.
Forest will now hope to finish the season well and kick on next season in the under-18 Premier League.
Forest future nailed on for Osong
The Reds have a really talented striker on their hands and Osong was once again the man in form against Boro.
Osong has taken his tally to 12 for the campaign and he’s showcasing maturity way beyond his years in front of goal.
The teenager is powerful, quick and comes alive when he’s in and around the penalty area.
Next season could be a big season at under-23 level for Osong as he looks to edge ever closer to the senior ranks.
Osong is growing with each passing game and against Boro yesterday he was once again the standout performer.
