Lewis Grabban could return to bolster Nottingham Forest on Saturday and for Blackpool that could be bad news indeed.

The Reds talisman has missed two months of action after injuring an ankle during a clash against Cardiff City back in January.

Grabban has been forced into a watching brief and he will be champing at the bit to get back on the pitch and help his teammates.

The 34-year-old has scored 13 goals this season and he will want to remain the main source of goals for his team at the business end of the campaign.

His injury looks to have cleared up well. Steve Cooper confirmed that he was putting the work in on the training ground and was on course for an early April return.

Forest will hope that remains the case and a return against Blackpool could be absolutely perfect.

Blackpool have proved a decent opponent for Grabban over the years, with the striker scoring four goals in six appearances against the Tangerines.

Grabban scored the winner back in October as Forest ran out 2-1 winners against Neil Critchley’s team.

It was the first time the Reds had won a home game all season and gave Cooper’s men the catalyst to kick their season on.

The experienced striker has also scored three other goals against Saturday’s opponents. He scored once against them for Norwich back in 2015 and also notched twice for Bournemouth the year previous.

Grabban return would be timely for Forest

Forest have 10 games remaining to secure themselves a play-off place. On current form, they will take some stopping and Grabban will enhance Forest’s prospects.

Grabban is a proven performer at Championship level. His 13 goals this season have highlighted that he’s still got it and he remains an asset.

Blackpool have enjoyed a solid maiden campaign back in the second tier. They won promotion last season, coming through the play-offs.

Grabban loves playing against Blackpool and that could leave Cooper with a big Forest decision to make this weekend.
