Nottingham Forest have an exciting talent coming through the ranks in striker Dale Taylor. Right now, the Northern Ireland performer is away with the under-21s and he’s done something very exciting in training.
Supporters are desperate to see Taylor make the step up at some point. In November, he was called into the senior national team by Ian Barraclough and made his debut.
Taylor signed for Forest from Linfield in 2020. He had caught the eye in his homeland by nothing for the first team at the age of 15-years-old.
That earned him rave reviews from the boss and Northern Ireland legend David Healy. He called him ‘fantastic’ and backed the striker to enjoy a bright future in the game.
Taylor is enjoying his football again. He was called up for the under-21s this time and started last week’s game against Slovakia.
Training sessions look to be going well. Some footage has emerged on Twitter of Forest gem Taylor showing his brilliance during a recent session.
The footage shows Taylor leaving a defender for dead with a scrumptious backheel that goes straight into the path of teammate Terry Devlin.
He slams home beyond the advancing goalkeeper and it’s really a brilliant piece of skill from the Forest youngster that creates the chance.
Forest fans should be excited over Taylor
The 18-year-old looks like one for the future. It does seem as though he will be on the radar of boss Steve Cooper, however, given the quality he possesses.
The youngster plays for the under-18s and under-23s but since returning from injury, he’s been featuring more for the younger age group.
Taylor does look like a sound addition to the Forest ranks. He offers skill, lethal finishing ability and he’s also physically strong despite his tender years.
Future stardom beckons for Taylor and Forest fans will hope he graces the City Ground extremely soon.
