Nottingham Forest stars Brennan Johnson and Djed Spence have been named in a compilation produced by Four Four Two (May 2022; page 38).
The duo have been handed places in the magazine’s Top 50 players currently playing in the EFL.
Both players have starred for the Reds during 2021/22. Johnson and Spence have worked well in tandem on Forest’s right-hand side.
Now, they’ve been rewarded for their efforts by being named among the EFL’s elite players.

The Best XI Already NOT Going To The 2022 World Cup
Brennan Johnson has claimed fourth place. His 12 goals and six assists this season have seen him become the subject of vast Premier League interest.
Spence is further back, claiming 12th place in the poll and it showcases just how good both players have been this season.
The votes were cast by the fans. Four Four Two contacted a fan from each of their 24 clubs and asked them to pick their top 10, not including players from their own team.
Johnson and Spence have both been unplayable at times during 2021/22. They have been part of everything brilliant about Forest under Steve Cooper.
The Reds are chasing a play-off place this season. With Johnson and Spence in the team, few would bet against them claiming a top-six place.
Johnson stock continues to rise and Forest have to keep him
The Reds did really well to keep hold of Johnson during the January transfer window.
In the summer, that challenge becomes even trickier with Johnson having just a year to run on his existing deal.

If Forest could get him to sign a new contract, that would certainly be ideal.
Even if clubs were interested then it would help Forest get what they feel Johnson is worth; rather than being forced into letting him go on the cheap.
As for Spence, Forest fans will retain their memories of him but he will be leaving.
Several high profile clubs want the right-back and he looks destined for a huge move in the summer.
