Former Nottingham Forest midfielder David Prutton has delivered his verdict on Saturday’s game against Blackpool. The Reds travel to Bloomfield Road in what looks like a massive game in the hunt for a play-off place.

The Tangerines have played brilliantly well this season. They are one of the better sides to come to the City Ground this season; although Steve Cooper’s team did run out 2-1 winners on Trentside back in October.

Forest are three points shy of the top-six but they do have two games in hand on their rivals. All the team can do is continue winning football matches and ultimately see where it takes them at the end of the season.

Neil Critchley has done a magnificent job at Blackpool. His team are in their maiden campaign back in the Championship and they’re well on course for a place in the top half.

They will hope to prove what a good team they are when Forest arrive on Saturday. The game will be televised on Sky Sports and a good crowd is expected in the North West.

Forest were 3-1 winners over QPR last time out in the Championship. That saw them see off a rival for a promotion place and confidence is currently sky-high.

What has Prutton predicted Forest to do on Saturday?

Hold the front page…Prutton has predicted a win for Forest! In recent seasons fans have spotted that the ex-Red doesn’t often pick his former side for all three points but he’s broken with tradition this week.

Giving his predictions to Sky Sports, he claimed: “Is the play-off dream still alive for Blackpool? There is a big old gap between themselves and the top six, but if they keep on picking up points then you just never know.

“Nottingham Forest’s FA Cup dream is over, but now they can fully focus on the league. They are in a good spot with so many games in hand, but they will be aware that does not mean points on the board.

“I do think they will edge this one.”

Prutton went with the scoreline of 2-1 to the Reds and supporters will hope that he’s spot on with his prediction this weekend.
