Nottingham Forest fans were devastated when Matty Cash departed in 2020 for Aston Villa. Now, after 18 months at Villa Park, he’s earned a new deal and received praise from Keinan Davis, Jack Grealish and Derby star Krystian Bielik on Instagram.

Cash put pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal yesterday. He has taken to Premier League football with aplomb and recently he’d been linked with a move to La Liga with Atletico Madrid.

The 24-year-old cost the Villans £16 million from Forest and he’s really grown as a player. In 141 appearances for Forest, he scored 13 goals and registered 15 assists.

Cash was a firm fan favourite for the Reds. He came of age when Sabri Lamouchi opted to use him as a right-back during the 2019/20 campaign.

The youngster was a natural in the position and now he’s one of the Premier League’s best in that position.

Cash isn’t just a Premier League star these days. He recently helped Poland qualify for the World Cup by beating Sweden in their play-off final.

Now, he can look forward to future endeavours with Villa and Poland with a new contract under his belt at Villa Park.

Who has praised former Forest star Cash?

Davis has proved a popular figure on Trentside since he arrived in January. He will have played alongside Cash in the past and he’s reacted to his news with a single emoji that displays the word ‘top’.

Bielik is in the same Poland setup as Cash and Rams fans might not be happy that he’s been praising a former Reds star.

He chose three words to describe his feelings towards Cash and they appeared to be very kind-hearted, to say the least.

Finally, Jack Grealish struck up a decent partnership with Cash during his time at Villa.

He still sees the Midlands-based club as the team he supports and he took some time out to send Cash some praise too.
