Miltiadis Marinakis watched on as Nottingham Forest beat Coventry 2-0 at the City Ground and he was once again left impressed. Goals from Brennan Johnson and James Garner ensured another positive outcome on Trentside.

Forest showcased that they can win ugly. The Sky Blues made life difficult for the Reds, with Mark Robins setting his team up in a similar way to that of Forest.

Steve Cooper is tactically astute, however, and he did manage to lead Forest to another big victory. The result last night move the Reds up to fifth in the Championship and a play-off place is now in their hands.

The first half saw Coventry very unfortunate not to go in front. Robins’ team wasted several openings after working the ball through the Forest rearguard.

Ultimately, Brice Samba probably only made one or two saves, however, and their lack of cutting edge proved costly for them on their trip to the City Ground.

Forest will now face Birmingham on Trentside and they’ll look to make it five wins on the spin, with Marinakis likely to be in attendance once again.
