Nottingham Forest edged into the race for automatic promotion with a 2-0 win over Birmingham City and James Garner was in fine form.
Now, Ralf Rangnick has made a claim that probably won’t go down well among Forest supporters.
Manchester United are in dire straits. They lost 1-0 to Everton and naturally, fans are disgruntled.
Next season, some of the club’s younger players might get a look in. That could see Garner get a chance.
Rangnick has struggled to get the best out of his United team and next season’s manager could turn to Garner.
After yesterday’s performance, he was quizzed on the form of Garner and it sounds plausible that he could get a chance.
The United boss told Manchester Evening News: “To be honest, I haven’t seen many games of Nottingham Forest. I will probably do that in the next couple of weeks with my staff and the analysis team.
“I’ve heard he’s scored four goals and had four assists in the league there but my focus has been on the current team.”
Garner is set for stardom after Forest exit
Make no bones about it, Forest are on the up and a large part of that has been down to the form of Garner.
He really is a fantastic player and the future looks very bright for the star player.
Whether he gets a chance at United remains to be seen. If he doesn’t Forest will surely welcome him back with open arms.
The Reds are in fine form at the moment and they have serious aspirations of being involved in the promotion mix.
Garner is a star of the future and Forest must prepare a contingency plan for when he leaves in the summer.
