Commentator Daniel Mann has raved about four Nottingham Forest players on this week’s edition of the Sky Sports EFL podcast.

He’s also sung the praises of Steve Cooper and his knack of squeezing every last drop out of his players since he arrived on Trentside.

Forest defeated Birmingham City last weekend. The 2-0 win was secured thanks to goals from Keinan Davis and Scott McKenna, with the Reds now winning five on the trot.

Mann has commentated on Forest several times this season, with the Sky cameras keen to catch the free-flowing team in action.

He has heaped praise on the head coach and namechecked four players for some praise of late.

He told the Sky Sports EFL podcast: “Keinan Davis is another that’s definitely made a surge forward. I think Cooper tends to credit the players rather than talk about what he’s done.

“Steve Cooper’s credentials just grow and grow. I was actually at Villa on Saturday and it was probably the only bit of positive news they had there (Davis scoring against Birmingham).

“Brennan Johnson has made strides, so has Djed Spence and then there is James Garner. Keinan Davis is just one but he’s a very impressive one.

Mann is right and Forest can go places with Cooper

The commentator knows his onions when it comes to the EFL. He’s Sky’s number one when it comes to the Championship and his praise makes a lot of sense.

Aside from the January signings, Cooper has worked with a squad of players not too dissimilar to the one that Chris Hughton had.

He has given every player meticulous coaching and naturally, the team has improved on the back of that.

It’s nice for supporters to be looking up with seven games remaining. Usually, at this time of the year, Forest are on the beach, or even bidding for points to stay in the Championship.

Under Cooper, things feel very different and it’s an exciting time to be supporting the football club.
