Nottingham Forest fan and comedian Matt Forde has interviewed Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage and it would appear he’s ready to play Steve Cooper in a Reds-related movie!

The interview took a comical turn – no shock given Forde was doing it – and talk turned towards whether or not the Con Air actor followed the English version of football.

Unsurprisingly he doesn’t. Cage did, however, claim that perhaps he should start clearing up some of his free time to start following a football team in the UK.

That proved music to the ears of Forde who promptly started giving him a beginner’s guide to all things Nottingham Forest.

Cage was given some useful pointers on Cooper and seemed intrigued about the Welsh manager and what he stands for at Forest.

He told Absolute Radio: “He sounds like a top man. I would look into it. If somebody has a script, send it my way.”

All of this was in humourous style but if Forest do get promoted from where they were in September, Cooper can choose where he wants his statue.

The Reds are in contention for a top-two place at the moment and face Luton and West Brom over the Easter period.

Forest are dreaming and a movie with Cage in would be a great watch

It would be some story if the Reds can get themselves over the line and into the Premier League this season.

They sat bottom of the league on four points when Cooper checked in at the club.

The boss had negotiated his way up the league with aplomb; losing just four games since arriving at Forest.

A film looks unlikely but it’d certainly be a good watch if the Reds can secure Premier League football next season.

Nicolas Cage might need to stick himself on standby!
