Nottingham Forest defender Djed Spence has added the Sky Bet EFL Goal of the Month accolade to his Player of the Month crown, it has been announced this morning.

The Reds standout has stolen the award after a scintillating goal against QPR during a 3-1 victory last month.

Spence has been in superb form throughout 2021/22 after arriving in August from Middlesbrough on loan.

He has quickly held down a place in the team and furthermore, Steve Cooper utilising wing-backs has really helped him flourish.

Spence has fought off goals from Ravel Morrison of Derby and Neco Williams of Fulham to claim another award.

Later today, the Forest man will hope to help the Reds further close the gap on Bournemouth in second place with a win at Luton.

The 21-year-old will saviour the 2021/22 campaign as one to remember. He’s kicked on as a player and also earned recognition with an England under-21 call up.

Forest are delighted to have hit the jackpot with Spence, although it’s a massive shame that the Reds couldn’t include a deal to sign him permanently.

Nonetheless, promotion could change that and hand Forest a lifeline.

Forest promotion could help them land Spence

This is starting to prove an exciting time for Forest and promotion could help them sign plenty of quality players.

One of those could be Spence. Although Arsenal, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are showing interest, Forest could offer regular football.

Spence hasn’t been known for his goals. The three he has scored this season, however, have all been decent with his others coming against Birmingham and Leicester.

Forest have to pull out the stops in the summer to sign Spence. If they win promotion, they might just have their man in the bag.
