Nottingham Forest youngster Julian Larsson has marked his 21st birthday by signing a first professional contract at the City Ground – and fans should be seriously excited!
The Swede checked in at Forest just before the pandemic shook the world in 2020. He signed on youth terms from AIK and has grown as a player with the academy.
Larsson has taken well to playing Premier League 2 football during 2021/22. He has scored eight goals and claimed five assists, with the striker scoring a scrumptious hat-trick against Aston Villa.
The talisman will now stay at the City Ground until 2025 and he’s already trained with the Reds first-team at various points of the current season.
Larsson has struck up a telepathic partnership with Will Swan and the pair will hope to form an understanding at first-team level too.
As of yet, Swan hasn’t penned terms beyond this season. As a result, he will hope to follow in the footsteps of Larsson and win himself a professional contract.
This season has seen Larsson play a couple of times for the Sweden under-20 ranks and clearly, the lad has bags of potential.
Forest fans should be seriously excited about Larsson
Signing strikers typically costs big money. Every club in football wants good strikers who can get in excess of 20 goals each season.
Forest might have found a gem right under their noses and giving Larsson a professional deal looks like a positive step in the right direction.
Larsson gets into good positions for a striker and also possesses strong movement off the ball, constantly looking for pockets of space.

He has also an absolute peach of a left-foot and there is plenty to be excited about when it comes to the Sweden youth international.
Talk over his first-team debut will naturally start. If Cooper has already invited him to train with his senior ranks, expect to see him sooner rather than later.
