Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson is still attracting vast Premier League interest, according to the Independent. David Johnson has moved to dampen the information in the report, however.

The Reds talisman has been in fine form this season. He’s found the net 16 times and has also claimed 10 assists; with Forest set to confirm their play-off place.

Forest still have a bit of work to do but barring a miracle, Steve Cooper’s men will take their place in the end of season battle for a place in the Premier League.

Johnson’s future will be discussed almost as soon as the season ends. If the Reds are promoted then surely it will be a formality that the forward extends his contract.

Your Club's SURPRISE Star This Season

If Forest remain a Championship club, they could find themselves in a perilous situation, with Johnson having just a year remaining on his existing deal.

The youngster has come through the academy at Forest. Last season he was sent out on loan to Lincoln City and he started really developing as a player.

At Sincil Bank he scored 13 goals and claimed 14 assists as the Imps reached the League One Play-Off Final before losing to Blackpool.

Johnson has Brentford, Newcastle and Everton all vying for his signature and other clubs are likely to come forward in the summer.

What has Johnson said in response to latest Forest report?

The former Reds striker has dismissed today’s report with a single word that should appease the Forest fan base.

Johnson has been a revelation during the current campaign and ultimately Forest will be desperate to keep him at the club.

It’s clear that the talisman does have his dad in his corner and naturally, he will want what is best for him.

Right now, he’s playing week in and week out. That concept might not be a guarantee if he heads to the Premier League at this stage of his career.

Johnson has made the Forest fans happy for now and they will hope that pen is put to paper in the summer.
