Nottingham Forest beat Fulham 1-0 on Tuesday night and Richie Laryea got himself some more game time from the bench. After the game, Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson reacted on Instagram to his showing.
The Canadian international has been forced into waiting patiently at Forest. After arriving in January he’s found first-team football pretty hard to come by.
He stepped off the bench in the 4-0 win over West Brom but only managed a ten-minute run-out with the game already won.

Tuesday saw him get a far sterner assignment. When Jack Colback went of injured he filled in for the final 15 minutes in his natural right-back spot; with Spence going to the left.
Laryea produced a lung-busting run at one point. On another night he’d have claimed an assist but Johnson’s shot was saved by the Cottagers’ goalkeeper.
At 27, Laryea looks like a decent addition to the Forest ranks. He is quick, keeps the ball well and also looks capable of doing well defensively.
The man with 28 caps for his country checked in from Toronto FC and spoke of his pride at joining a European club upon his arrival.
What have Spence and Johnson said about Forest man Laryea?
Interestingly, the form of Spence is probably the reason that Laryea hasn’t played a little bit more for the Reds. He is under contract for next season, however, and that could be his time to shine.
Spence has made a comment in a nod towards Laryea’s unbelievable speed, with Johnson also sending Laryea some congratulations on Instagram.

All the Canadian can do at this stage is be patient. The Reds are now guaranteed a play-off place and a win on Saturday would set up a massive clash with Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
Laryea looks a decent little player from what has been visible so far and he just needs to stay calm and ready for when Steve Cooper might need him.
