Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge has been named in the FUT22 Team of the Week by EA Sports.

The 23-year-old was in fine form on Saturday as he put his former club Swansea to the sword with a devastating hat-trick.

Surridge has scored eight goals in 19 appearances since joining from Stoke in January and right now, he’s the first-choice striker at the club.

Forest have welcomed Surridge into their squad. Steve Cooper previously had him on loan when he was in charge of the Swans and he knows how to get a tune out of the talisman.

On Saturday, the Reds defeated Swansea 5-1 on Trentside. With the scores level at the interval, Forest produced a wonderful second-half display to send the Welsh side packing.

Surridge has been a brilliant addition. Some eyebrows were raised when the Reds parted with £2 million for him, considering a less than impressive goalscoring record.

The Forest man is still young though. He has been signed ahead of his best years and he will want to confirm himself as the Reds’ number one striker.

Surridge was named on the bench amid some quality players in the FUT22 Team of the Week. Everton star Richarlison and Torino ace Andrea Belotti made the cut in the starting eleven.

Surridge named in Team of the Week and he could fire Forest to promotion

What a signing Surridge has been. He’s been instrumental in Forest’s rise up the table and he’s only recently started becoming a regular starter.

Cooper clearly fancies him and he looks like an inspired signing. His goals have showcased unreal finishing ability and a natural instinct in the box.

Forest did well to sign Surridge permanently. The squad is already well-stocked with loans and adding any more on deadline day seemed nonsensical.

Surridge is capable of doing the business for Forest for many years to come. In the short-term, he might just fire the Reds into the Premier League.
