FA Youth Cup Final – Manchester United v Nottingham Forest: What’s the story?

History is there to be made tonight and one Nottingham Forest youngster could etch their name into the club’s folklore.

Forest have never tasted glory in the competition and Joyce will be keen to lead his charges into dreamland at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Reds have been brilliant since the turn of the year. They actually face United in the league on Saturday and a win in that game would see the team finish third.

At the turn of the year, Forest found themselves near the foot of the Under-18 Premier League. It’s been the club’s first season playing at that level and they found it tough.

But they have kicked on and their form in 2022 has been remarkably good, leading to a significant rise up the table.

Forest will be counting on the brilliance of Detlef Esapa Osong and Dale Taylor tonight.

Those two combined to sink Chelsea in the semi-finals and they are clearly huge players in Joyce’s team.
