Nottingham Forest v Sheffield United: What’s the story?

This is it. Nottingham Forest are 90 minutes away from Wembley after their 2-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday during their play-off first leg.

Goals from Jack Colback and Brennan Johnson give Forest a slender advantage. A late Sander Berge goal gives the Blades a lifeline going into tonight.

The winners of tonight’s clash will meet Huddersfield for a place at the national stadium at the end of May.

A draw would do for Forest to reach their first play-off final. Cooper won’t be playing for a share of the spoils, however, and he will want to win the game again.

Forest are pretty good at home. They’ve shipped just five goals in 2022 at the City Ground and they will need to continue that resolute nature tonight.

United will be a wounded animal having lost at home and they have players who are capable of winning the game for the Blades.

The City Ground is certain to be rocking tonight and Cooper will hope the fans can cheer Forest on to a famous victory.

Broadcast details

Tonight’s game will be shown live on Sky Sports Football with the coverage due to begin at 7pm.

Colin Fray provides full match commentary on BBC Radio Nottingham and he will likely be joined by a former Forest legend.
