Nottingham Forest beat Sheffield United on penalties to reach the Championship Play-Off Final on Tuesday night and after Sabri Lamouchi has reacted on Instagram.
The former boss almost got the Reds to the play-offs during 2019/20. His team imploded though and they missed out on the final day having been in the top six since Christmas.
He was replaced by Chris Hughton after just four games of the 2020/21 campaign. That proved to be a disaster too and he lasted little more than a year in charge on Trentside.
Steve Cooper has been nothing short of a revelation. Forest were rooted to the bottom of the division when he took over and in eight months he’s won a place in the play-off final for the club.

Now, Forest have one more obstacle to overcome for a place in the Premier League. If they beat Huddersfield a week on Sunday, the Reds will take their place in the top-flight for the first time in 23 years.
It’s been some journey for the club over the last eight months. Cooper has revolutionised the football club and everyone involved has been singing from the same hymn sheet.
Wembley Stadium will be awash with red on 29th May. Forest look likely to outsell Huddersfield and it could be some occasion at the national stadium.
Lamouchi reacts to Forest win fans still think fondly of him
Forest appointed the French boss as an unknown quantity. The club enjoyed a decent campaign and there proved to be a lot of good days under Lamouchi.
His style of play wasn’t particularly easy on the eye but he knew how to get results. Sadly, the Reds fell away when football restarted after lockdown and Forest were denied a play-off place.

Still, Lamouchi left with his head held high. The club signed far too many players the following summer and it was the manager who naturally had to carry the can.
Since his departure, he’s never had a bad word to say about Forest. As a result, it’s perhaps little surprise to see him excited about the club’s fortunes on social media.
