Nottingham Forest duo James Garner and Djed Spence have been called up by England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley ahead of four games next month.

The young lions will take on the Czech Republic, Albania, Kosovo and Slovenia in European U21 Championship qualifying action.

Both players have been integral to the Forest team that has reached the Play-Off Final this season.

The Reds will take on Huddersfield at Wembley on Sunday with the winners taking their place in the Premier League next season.

Garner and Spence will prolong their season following the season finishing this weekend.

Both players will link up with Carsley’s team as they aim to claim some big points in their qualifying campaign.

The summer looks set to be an interesting time for both players.

Garner will head back to Manchester United where Erik ten Hag will likely run the rule over him in pre-season.

He could earn a chance at Old Trafford but if not he could embark on a third season on loan; with the Premier League his likely destination.

For Spence, he looks set to be on the move too.

Middlesbrough are keen to sell him quickly and it’s been claimed that Tottenham have opened preliminary talks.

Another report has claimed that Forest are keen to make his loan permanent if they can edge past Huddersfield and reach the Premier League on Sunday.

One way or another, he looks destined to be playing in the top flight.

It’s fair to say this season has been a brilliant one as far as Forest are concerned.

The Reds appointed Steve Cooper and they’ve not looked back, enjoying a truly remarkable rise up the table.

Garner and Spence have both been important components of what Cooper wants his team to do.

The United owned starlet plays the box-to-box perfectly and Spence marauds forward down the right at free will.

Both players do have one final job to do in the red of Forest.

After that their attention will turn towards England duty and Cooper is squeezing every inch of talent out of the entire Forest squad.
