Djed Spence has taken a jab at Neil Warnock whilst celebrating winning promotion with Nottingham Forest on Sunday evening.

Forest headed to Wembley on Sunday to take on Huddersfield Town in the Championship playoff final.

This game wasn’t a classic by any stretch of the imagination and one somewhat fortuitous goal ended up settling the game.

James Garner’s ball into the middle ended with Levi Colwill inadvertently sending the ball into his own net.

Forest were far from pretty in the second half and could barely muster an attack for the final 25 minutes of the game.

It didn’t matter when the final whistle sounded though as Forest celebrated promotion to the Premier League.

Djed Spence has taken a jab at Neil Warnock

Few could have predicted that back in September but this has been a quite incredible season under Steve Cooper.

Cooper has maximised loan signings like Philipp Zinckernagel, James Garner and Djed Spence, who were all signed before Cooper arrived at Forest.

Spence was brought in under Chris Hughton and has emerged as one of the stars of Forest’s season.

The wing back arrived on loan from Middlesbrough having fallen out of the plans under Neil Warnock.

Spence has proven to be an outstanding attacking force for Forest, especially as a wing back in Cooper’s system.

Sadly, this could be Spence’s final game as a Forest player. His loan ends this summer and there is major Premier League interest.

If that is the case, Spence at least went out in style by clinching promotion for Forest.

Spence is clearly in celebratory mood tonight and posted a photo from the Forest dressing room at Wembley with a cigar in hand.

Spence even took a jab at his former Boro boss Warnock, sarcastically welcoming him to Twitter as the wing back showed he hasn’t forgotten being shoved aside by Warnock.
