Manchester United’s Brandon Williams has offered support to James Garner as Nottingham Forest face Huddersfield Town in the playoff final.

Forest head to Wembley Stadium this afternoon as they play for a place in the Premier League.

Steve Cooper’s men saw off Sheffield United over two legs in the semi-finals, coming through a dramatic penalty shootout to reach the final.

Huddersfield didn’t have to go through penalties but did require a late Jordan Rhodes winner to beat Luton Town 2-1 on aggregate.

Few would have backed this to be the playoff final way back in late September.

Both teams have been on incredible journeys though and now find themselves 90 minutes away from the Premier League.

This is a huge moment for Forest; the closest they have been to the top flight since relegation back in 1999.

The two sides exchanged wins in the Championship season too so this one should be a very close encounter.

One of Forest’s key players today should be midfielder Garner.

The Manchester United loanee has racked up 38 league starts for Forest this season, racking up four goals and eight assists.

Garner has been outstanding in Forest’s midfield and will end up hoping for a chance with Manchester United.

Today could be Garner’s last game for Forest but you can guarantee he will put his all into the game – just as he has throughout his time at the City Ground.

United may well be watching today’s game to check up on Garner’s progress ahead of pre-season.

One Red Devil who seemingly can’t wait for the game is defender Brandon Williams.

Williams, as noted by the Manchester Evening News, has taken to Instagram to send a message to Garner.

The pair have come up through the United ranks together and Williams knows what this means to Garner.

Williams noted that this is the ‘biggest game of Garner’s life’ whilst backing him to ‘make the impossible possible’.

Many at United will echo those thoughts, and let’s just hope they all have something to celebrate later today.
