Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Chelsea youngster Armando Broja this summer, according to Nottinghamshire Live.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Southampton and he could be allowed out again during 2022/23.

Chelsea look highly unlikely to consider selling Broja, with the player having four years to run on his contract.

Furthermore, the Reds will face stiff competition for his signature with West Ham particularly interested.

The Albania international enjoyed a quality maiden campaign playing regular Premier League football.

During 2021/22 he scored nine goals from his 38 appearances and was a regular under Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Clearly, the player is still learning his trade but that’s not a bad goal return for someone who hadn’t sampled the top flight last summer.

Broja has collected 12 caps for his country, scoring three goals.

Chelsea will have ambitious plans under their new owner Todd Boehly and that’s likely to mean bad news for some of the younger players.

The Blues are renowned for loaning their academy stars out and Broja does look set to depart once again.

Forest will almost certainly be in the market for a striker. Lewis Grabban could be released and Keinan Davis has returned to Aston Villa, leaving Sam Surridge as the only senior option.

Forest want Broja and Hasenhuttl raved about him

Following a 4-1 win over Brentford in January, the Austrian manager called Broja ‘dangerous’ during his post-match interview.

He raved about his work rate and his ability to create something out of nothing.

That certainly bodes well and at 20-years-old, he’s definitely the sort of player that suits the criteria of a Dane Murphy and a Steve Cooper signing.

Forest can only have two domestic loans in their squad next season and they will want to get both of them right.

Broja looks like an exciting addition for certain Premier League clubs this summer – including Forest.

Rumour rating: 7/10 – this is one for supporters to really get behind!

The Reds are right to be targeting younger players, although it’s perhaps a shame that Chelsea wouldn’t consider a sale.

Broja has a year of top-flight experience under his belt and that could prove massive during the 2022/23 campaign.

It’s fair to say that most Forest fans would welcome this deal.
