Nottingham Forest are eyeing an ambitious raid on Red Bull Salzburg to sign talented wonderkid Noah Okafor, according to Nau.
The versatile forward has finally established himself in Austria during 2021/22 and scored three Champions League goals.
In total for the campaign he netted 14 times and registered 10 assists; featuring primarily as a centre forward.
Furthermore, Newcastle were said to be linked with the talented striker as recent as February.
Whether the Magpies make a move this summer remains to be seen but it would appear that Forest are keen.
It’s pretty clear that Okafor will have other options should he be willing to leave Salzburg this summer.
The 21-year-old has also become an international with Switzerland over the last 12 months, making six appearances and scoring two goals.
Okafor fits the profile of a Dane Murphy signing down to the ground and this would represent something of a coup.
He has previously been lauded as a special talent by Switzerland under-21 boss Mauro Lustrinelli.
Back in October, he claimed he was ‘magnificent’, raving about his pace, technique and power.
The report claims that no discussions have taken place just yet but that Okafor is a Forest target.
Forest want Okafor and he could be a seriously could signing
This would certainly make things very interesting ahead of next season.
Signing a player with a massive ceiling when it comes to potential would really make some teams stand up and take notice.
Okafor scores goals and creates them and his work rate is there for all to see.
His form for Salzburg was fantastic last season and his 14 goals and 10 assists will naturally alert lots of clubs.
Okafor is likely to cost a tidy sum but with Forest, in need of a striker or two they might just push the boat out.
Rumour rating: 9/10 – this might just be the best link of the lot since Forest won promotion.
Okafor was wanted by Newcastle recently and naturally other clubs will come on the scene for him.
Signing a player with such a large amount of potential would surely delight the Forest fan base.
Lots of rumours will be considered rubbish in the coming weeks but this is one that the Reds fan base would likely be unanimously happy about.
