Nottingham Forest are back in the Premier League and Miltiadis Marinakis has been handed an award for entrepreneurship in front of the Greek Prime Minister.
The son of Evangelos Marinakis is a man set for a bright future. He’s been in attendance on a regular basis at home and away games this season and he’s been involved with the day-to-day running of the club.
It’s not his work at Forest that has been recognised just yet though. His latest accolade was on the back of the rapid rise of his online company, Shopflix.

The business has been going for just under a year but now employs 90 people and has developed a nationwide delivery network.
An intriguing business, Shopflix sell products ranging from technology items, books, games, toys, home appliances and sports supplies.
Last season, Marinakis became more frequent on Trentside. He was regularly in attendance at games and clearly, he’s the trusted lieutenant of his father who isn’t always in the UK.
It’s perhaps not overly apparent what the young businessman’s responsibilities are on Trentside but whatever they are, clearly something is working.
He was in attendance at Wembley a fortnight ago as the Reds enjoyed a famous day. The Reds defeated Huddersfield 1-0 to claim a place among the country’s elite for the first time in 23 years.
Marinakis deserves recognition for fine season at Forest
The Greek owner has sometimes come under scrutiny. His cynics might be wise to be careful what they wish for though, with the owner’s backing never in question.

Now, Marinakis can really get started. Financial fair play restraints are nowhere near as taxing in the Premier League and the owner will likely flex some serious ambition.
It seems likely that the owner’s son will stick around next season and that is definitely a good decision.
Marinakis Jr has proved his worth to the Reds faithful and with his business booming, it would appear that the Reds have a burgeoning young entrepreneur overseeing things from the boardroom.
