Nottingham Forest will try and sign Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadioglu during the summer transfer window. The Reds tried to offer a pre-contract to the Dutch-born performer during the January transfer window.

That attempt proved unsuccessful and Fenerbahce persuaded him to sign a new deal. Ultimately, that has just ensured that the club will receive a payment for his services if they decide to sell.

Kadioglu was viewed as a relatively important part of the team last season. Jorge Jesus will want some funds for his own recruitment drive this summer, however, and Kadioglu could leave.

During 2020/21 he scored three times and claimed three assists and was often used as a left-back in a back four, or as a wing-back when the team opted to go with wing-backs.

Kadioglu was booked six times during the campaign; showcasing a tendency to get stuck in for the cause. At 22-years-old he also has plenty of time to continue improving over the next few years.

According to Gazete Vatan, the Turkish outfit will consider a sale but they value their player at £17 million and that’s unlikely to put Forest off during the transfer window.

Max Lowe has returned to Sheffield United following his loan spell. It has been claimed that Forest will attempt to sign him but another left-sided wing-back option would still be useful.

Kadioglu has made 100 appearances for Fenerbahce. He’s also played for NEC Nijmegen during his career and he’s vastly experienced despite his tender years.

Forest want Kadioglu and signing him could prove very useful

The Reds definitely need at least one left-sided wing-back this summer. Jack Colback filled in when Lowe was injured last season but a natural option will be sought for the Premier League.

Kadioglu is a menace at both ends of the pitch. He very much fits the modern-day persona of a wingback who loves to get forward and assist with the attacking side of the game.

Forest are unlikely to be alone in their pursuit of Kadioglu. He is one of the best young talents the Turkey national team has to offer and Dane Murphy might have to move quickly.
