Another day and another transfer link involving Nottingham Forest, with Juventus defender Radu Dragusin now mentioned in the same sentence as the new Premier League outfit.

As of yet, the Reds are yet to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. It’s fair to say that plenty of signings will take place though and things will likely ramp up in the coming weeks.

On Thursday, Forest will discover their fixtures for the new season. Only then will it likely feel real what the Reds managed to achieve under Steve Cooper during the last campaign.

Tuttojuve claims that Dragusin is on Forest’s radar for next season. The Romanian could leave the Turin giants on loan having slipped down the pecking order with the Old Lady.

At 20, Dragusin is a player who fits the profile of what Forest typically look for nicely. Last season he spent time on loan with Sampdoria and Salernitana, featuring 20 times in total for the Serie A clubs.

The Romanian talent has previously been linked to a move to the Premier League. He rejected the chance to join Chelsea prior to signing for Juventus with Goal referring to him as the ‘Romanian Van Dijk’ back in March 2021.

Forest want Dragusin and he could be an ideal signing

The Reds could feasibly look to sign two central defenders this summer. Joe Worrall, Scott McKenna and Steve Cook could all get a chance but Tobias Figueiredo departed the club last week.

Jonathan Panzo and Loic Mbe Soh are options but they are both relatively young and Raw. With that in mind, it looks like a central defender or two will be on the agenda.

Dragusin is only 20 and he could still improve. It does seem as though Juventus will see him as integral any time soon and they might even consider a sale.

Forest will need to make sure they’re well-stocked ahead of next season. The last thing they want is to be left short and signing another defender or two makes sense.

Dragusin has ample experience in the men’s game and perhaps he will see a crack at the Premier League as his next challenge.
