James Garner has been in fine form for Nottingham Forest during the 2021/22 campaign. His form helped him establish himself as an England under-21 regular and also saw him take the Reds to the Premier League.

With his season now over, the player has taken to Instagram. He will now head off on holiday but first, he’s received some interesting praise from Derby midfielder Ravel Morrison, with Lyle Taylor also sending praise in his direction.

The future is unclear for Garner. As a United academy graduate, he will almost certainly have a desire to make the first team grade. With Erik ten Hag taking over there could be a huge opportunity for the team’s younger players next season.

The 21-year-old will certainly hope that is the case. He has played over 50 games for club and country during 2021/22 and he will go back to United full of confidence that he can make the step up and play in the Premier League.

Garner’s form was unbelievable for Forest. The club did well to get him back after he scored four times from 20 appearances during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign.

The young Red Devils starlet is a firm fan favourite on Trentside. If Ten Hag does decide to loan him out again for next season then surely Forest would place themselves right at the front of the queue.

Garner stars for Forest and Derby man can’t help but praise him

Morrison has just returned from three matches with Jamaica and his future at Derby is perhaps up in the air given their predicament. He has, however, found time to praise Garner.

Lyle Taylor has also taken time to praise Garner. He spent some time playing alongside the Manchester United man before joining Birmingham on loan in January.

The Reds striker is unlikely to be at the City Ground next season. At 31 he will want regular football and he’s unlikely to get that in the top flight.

Forest will wish him well though. His contract will be up next summer and cashing in on him now would make perfect sense to all parties.
