Forest face a daunting start. They travel to Newcastle first, before playing West Ham at home the following week.

Games against Everton, Tottenham and Manchester City follow before a home game against Bournemouth.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Campbell delivered his verdict on the first six games of the campaign.

He said: “They will be absolutely buzzing. I think Newcastle away, it’s one of the grounds where they will have missed going the most.

“The atmosphere will be rocking up there and I’m delighted for them. They’ve won promotion and now they’ve got the Premier League to look forward to.

“What Steve Cooper has done there has been miraculous and I’m so happy to see them back in the Premier League.”

Now, Forest have to get going in the transfer market. This release today will have made it real to some people and the hard work starts now.

It is a tough start for the Reds but bring it on. Every team has to be faced twice so why not get some of the better teams out of the way in the first month of the campaign.

Now, the class of 2022 will hope to step up and emulate the great man as the Reds aim to get off to a flyer during 2022/23.

Forest will need new signings to come on board but you can bet that Cooper will have his team ready for the opening game of the season.
